Cowley County Sheriff’s Report for January 17, 2012

Two cows were reported in a neighbors yard in the 17000 block of 181st Rd.

The welfare of horses was checked in the 17000 block of 231st Rd.

Deputies were dispatched to check trespassers at the Avocado Beach area on the Arkansas River west of Ark City.

A minor non-injury vehicle accident occurred in the 1400 block of West Madison, Ark City.

James Jay McDonald, Ark City, was arrested on a warrant for failure to comply with bond conditions.

Two prisoners were transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

Cowley County Drug Task Force was assisted by Ark City Police officers and deputies with executing a search warrant at a residence in Ark City. Two people were arrested at that site and taken to the Cowley County jail.

Ark City Emergency Medical Service and deputies responded to a medical call in the 29000 block of Eastridge Drive.

Deputies checked a vehicle setting off the road in the 30000 block of 11th Rd. The driver reported having car problems, but that help had been called and was on the way.

Deputies received a report of a vehicle cutting donuts in the parking lot of the Cinema 8 Theatre.

A vehicle, setting off the edge of the road, was checked in the 19000 block of US 77. A passenger in the car was found to be carsick, but did not need help.

A theft was reported in the 31000 block of 55th Rd.

Deputies were dispatched to the 8000 block of 322nd Rd. on a report that someone had attempted to steal a car from that location. The car was not damaged, and the area was searched, but no one was found.
