Winfield Police Sgt. Floyd Clarkson died Saturday after being hospitalized in Wichita earlier this week.
Clarkson – who in addition to police duties oversaw communications and dispatch for the department – fell ill suddenly after complications arising from a routine medical procedure, according to family and friends who have given updates via social media.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Winfield High School.
Clarkson, a longtime Cowley County resident, is a son of Lloyd and Carmelita Clarkson and has a wife, Lisa.
