Cowley County Sheriff’s Report for April 5, 2012

A car/deer accident occurred at US 77 and 212th Rd.

Deputies received a report of an alleged child abuse case that had reportedly occurred near Udall.

The theft of a license tag decal was reported by a Winfield resident.

A civil property issue was reported in Winfield.

Three prisoners were transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

An abandoned vehicle was checked in the 600 block of South Summit, Ark City.

Deputies were dispatched to the 28000 block of US 166 where a rock either kicked out off the road by a truck or falling off the load on a truck had broken the windshield of the following car causing glass to become lodged in the eyes of the driver. The driver was checked by Ark City Emergency Medical Services and then taken by a family member to the Sedan Hospital to have her eyes flushed.

A pedestrian walking in the 4000 block of US 160 was checked and then given a ride to the Sumner County line.

A family cat was reported to have been shot by someone in the 30000 block of 39th Rd.

Deputies were dispatched to a one vehicle roll over accident in the 8000 block of 326th Rd. Nothing was found at the reported location, but the accident vehicle was found turning into a private drive a short distance away. The driver, Jeffrey Gene Yatsko, Ark City, was not injured, but subsequently arrested for failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and no proof of insurance.

Gunshots were reported being heard near a bridge in the 11000 block of 281st Rd. Nothing was found.

Connie Marie McClure, Howard, was arrested for driving under the influence on US 77 north of Rock.
