Authorities name infant killed in Friday wreck

Authorities have identified Alexia Raelynn Marie Wiley, 5 months old, of Winfield as the infant child killed in a crash Friday near Oxford.

Wiley was a passenger in a 1999 Oldsmobile Aero being driven by Travis J. Wiley, of Wellington. Travis Wiley was listed in critical condition at Wesley Medical Center Monday morning, according to a spokesperson there.

Kayla Little, 21, Winfield, was a passenger in the Wiley vehicle and also sustained critical injuries. She remained in critical condition Monday at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in Wichita, according to a spokesperson.

A report from the Sumner County Sheriff’s office indicated Wiley was eastbound on 20th St. when he collided with a trash truck that was northbound on Greenwich. Wiley failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by the trash truck on the passenger side.

Tommy L. Pearson, 73, was the driver of the 2006 Freightliner truck. He was not injured.

The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m.
