Doc Gizmo bringing his show to Cowley Coll.

The Doc Gizmo Science Theatre is coming to Cowley College next week as part of the IMPACT Program year end celebration.

The free program will be held at 7 p.m. April 25 at the Robert Brown Theatre. The emphasis of the program is to encourage students to look forward to a life-long learning experience.

This is the first time that Phil “Doc Gizmo” Arnold has presented at the college.

Phil and his wife, Susan, developed the program to make science come alive for students and teachers alike. The event is a collection of about 20 discrepant event science demos, designed to help students find that science can be fun and exciting.

Over the past 12 years Phil has presented in front of over 237,000 students, conducting over 1,050 programs, including 240 at Silver Dollar City in Branson.

Susan teaches chemistry and physics at Maize High School. Together they have written a notebook of over 165 good solid science demos and activities covering a wide range of topics in physics, chemistry, natural science, math, astronomy and ecology.

Parents, students and the community are invited to come and experience a new way to look at science. In addition there will be a limited number of science materials for sale and a 56-minute DVD of “The Theatre”.
