Ark City pair is facing theft and drug charges

Two Ark City men were arrested Saturday morning when authorities arrived to find them stealing scrap metal near the former Total Refinery in Ark City.

Nicholas S. Hadorn, 18, and Daniel Ray Forrest Allen, 18, were found on property owned by L.G. Pike, just behind the refinery. They were taken into custody.

During the investigation the two were also said to have been found in possession of marijuana. Thus each are also facing possible drug charges in addition to theft and trespass charges.

Hadorn posted $3,750 in bond and has since been released. Allen remained in the county jail as of this morning. His bond amount is the same.

Sheriff’s deputies and Ark City police were dispatched to the L.G. Pike property around 9:45 a.m. in response to a report that someone was stealing scrap metal. Hadorn and Allen were still there when authorities arrived.

Investigators determined the two did not have permission to be on the property removing materials.
