Local businessman arrested in stalking case

A Winfield businessman was arrested for the second time in three days Tuesday as a result of an investigation that began over allegations of stalking.

Chad Wilson, 30, was arrested and accused of violating a protective order issued through Cowley County Dist. Court in Ark City. He is currently being held without bond.

Wilson already had been arrested early Sunday morning following an investigation by the Ark City Police Dept., according to jail records. He was accused of one count of stalking, a felony.

Wilson posted $2,000 bond and was released on Sunday afternoon. He will need to make a court appearance before bond is discussed in his case.

On Tuesday, Ark City authorities informed the Cowley County Sheriff’s Dept. that Wilson had made another attempt to contact the person involved in the stalking complaint and should be arrested, according to undersheriff Bill Mueller.

Wilson is owner of C and B Liquor in east Winfield.
