Man accused of sex crimes attacks an officer

A rural Winfield man was arrested Thursday afternoon after attacking a Kansas Bureau of Investigation agent who was questioning the man in regard to a child sex crimes case.

Floyd Lee Allen Blair III, 35, became upset and put the agent, who was not identified by name, up against the wall and struck him, Cowley County Undersheriff Bill Mueller said. Blair was quickly subdued and placed under arrest.

The KBI agent was assisting the sheriff’s department with a case involving allegations of child sexual abuse.

Blair is facing a charge of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and criminal damage to property for damaging the agent’s laptop computer. The details of the sex crimes investigation will be forwarded to the county attorney’s office for further investigation, however Blair is being held on counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, aggravated solicitation of a child and aggravated criminal sodomy.

He remained in the county jail Friday and his bond was set at $53,500.
