MAY 21

A theft in Cambridge was reported. Items taken were a yellow and tan 2008 Cub Cadet model LT1045 riding lawn more and a gray plastic Craftsman toolbox with miscellaneous Craftsman and Stanley hand tools. If you have any information about this please contact the Sheriff’s office.

A license tag decal was reported lost from a Winfield resident.

Special traffic enforcement was provided in the 8000 block of 232nd Rd. based on complaints regarding traffic using him proper routes going to the county landfill and losing debris on the road.

A property dissolution issue was checked in the 1400 block of South C, Ark City.

A disturbance was reported in the 8000 block of 21st Rd.

Cattle were out in the 6000 block of 304th Rd.

The welfare of an individual walking toward Winfield from north of the Winfield Correctional Facility was checked by deputies.

A disturbance was reported in the 29000 block of Eastridge Road.

Cattle were out on the road in the 4100 block of 272nd Rd.

An alarm was checked at the Cinema 8 Theater.

MAY 22

A car/deer accident occurred in the 14000 block of US 166.

Two prisoners were transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

A two vehicle noninjury accident occurred at US 160 and 112th Rd., west of Burden.

An Ark City resident notified deputies that a boat oar had been lost somewhere near the State Lake, east of Ark City on US 166.

Traffic control was provided for a funeral procession going from Miles Funeral Service to the Mount Vernon Cemetery southeast of Atlanta.

Ark City Fire Department and deputies responded to a grass fire at US 166 and 292nd Rd.

A license tag was reported missing by a resident in the 21000 block of Hoover Avenue.

Deputies were contacted by a rural Ark City resident regarding a vehicle that had been stolen by a known acquaintance while the vehicle was in Wichita. Deputies referred the resident to the Wichita Police Department to file a theft report, then conducted an investigation that resulted in locating the vehicle, damaged, beneath the BNSF Railroad Bridge on the north bank of the Arkansas River at the south edge of Ark City.

A non-injury hit and run accident occurred in the 2000 block of 42nd Rd.

Dustin Ray Dean Coffey, Ark City, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

A hitchhiker in the 7000 block of US 166 was checked by deputies.

Shawna Rae Hernandez, rural Ark City, was arrested on a warrant for permitting a dangerous dog at large.

Deputies Observed Anthony Ln., Muldrow in the 1600 block of North Summit, Ark City, and knew there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest. When they attempted to contact Muldrow, he fled on foot, but after a short foot chase he was apprehended by deputies and Ark City police officers. During the chase, Muldrow through two bags that were recovered and found to contain crack cocaine and marijuana. He was booked into the Cowley County jail on a probation violation warrant and for possession of cocaine within 100 feet of a school, possession of marijuana, possession of drug sale proceeds, no tax stamp and obstructing legal process.

Magdalena Tomas-Domingo, Ark City, was arrested on an imposition of sentence warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to Geuda Springs to assist a Sumner County deputy who was out on a traffic stop at that location.

A criminal threat complaint was received in Dexter.

Deputies stopped a suspiciously driven vehicle in Dexter and discovered that it was being operated with an expired license tag and by a juvenile without a valid license. The juvenile was cited, and the vehicle was released to her license driver to take it and a juvenile home.

Horses were out in the 16000 block of 102nd Rd.

Damage to a mailbox was reported in the 2400 block of East Chestnut, Parkerfield.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 3000 block of 21st Rd. on a report that a loud noise, thought possibly to be a gunshot, had been heard. The resident requested his outbuildings be check. Deputies checked the area and buildings, but nothing suspicious was found.

MAY 23

A prisoner was transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

Criminal damage to a building was reported in the 33000 block of 61st Rd.

A prisoner was transported from the Ark City Police Department to the Cowley County jail on a Washington County failure to appear warrant.

Winfield Police officers, Winfield Fire Department and deputies responded to a possible structure fire in the 100 block of East 17th, Winfield.

A motorist with a flat tire was assisted in the 30000 block of US 77.

Deputies were dispatched to the 32000 block of Byrd Street in the IXL area to check a plant thought possibly to be a marijuana plant. It was not.

A vehicle parked at an unoccupied house was checked in Geuda Springs.

Deputies were close and responded to a domestic disturbance report in the 300 block of North College, Winfield, and secured the scene pending the arrival of Winfield Police officers who then investigated the complaint.

MAY 24

Cattle were out in the 20000 block of 85th Rd., And the 6000 block of 22nd Rd.

Deputies were dispatched to the 25000 block of 241st Rd. for a follow-up on a prior case where a window screen had been damaged during a welfare check.

Cowley County Drug Task Force were assisted by deputies, Winfield Police Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol in the execution of a search warrant in the 500 block of Maris in Winfield.

A lost or stolen tag was reported by a resident who lives in the 300 block of West Lewis in Udall.

A miscellaneous animal report regarding a dog was reported in the 24000 block of 11th Rd.

Winfield Police Department was assisted by deputies with a hit and run accident that had occurred in town. The vehicle was located in the 1700 block of Millington by deputies.

A follow-up was done on a prior evictions notice in the 1300 block of North 12th in Ark City.

A resident, who lives in the 8000 block of 212th Rd., was contacted by deputies in regards to a civil child custody issue.

A motorist was assisted by deputies in the 21000 block of US 77. Water was obtained for them due to an overheated engine.

A reckless driver was reported in the 7000 block of US 77.

A verbal disturbance was reported in the 9000 block of 85th Court.
