Cowley County Sheriff’s Reports for May 29 – 31, 2012

MAY 29

A prisoner was transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

An abandoned vehicle was checked in the 6000 block of 26th Road.

The Ark City Fire Department and deputies were dispatched to a vehicle fire in the 28600 block of 131st Rd.

MAY 30

Deputies were dispatched to a possible domestic disturbance in the 12400 block of 75th Rd. Both parties were found to be intoxicated, but no disturbance was reported.

Deputies were again dispatched to a possible disturbance in the 12400 block of 75th Road. Again, the parties reported no disturbance, but agreed to separate and go to sleep for the night.

A car/deer accident occurred in the 8000 block of 21st Rd.

A lost license tag decal was reported from an Ark City resident.

An out of county resident contacted deputies concerning a missing vehicle.

A prisoner was transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

Cattle were reported out in the 20000 block of 202nd Rd.

A residential alarm was checked in the 2000 block of 281st Rd.

MAY 31

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 9000 block of 75th Rd. It was found to be a group of Westar trucks repairing damage power lines in the area.

A hitchhiker was checked in the 16000 block of US 160. He was given a ride to Winfield on his way to Wichita.

A report of neglect of animals (dogs) was checked in the 2000 block of East Vine.

Four prisoners were transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

A horse was reported on the road in the 8000 block of 292nd Rd.

A report of a person apparently sleeping in a truck was checked in the 30000 block of 271st Rd.

A report of a possible stolen motorcycle at Strother Field was checked and later determined to be unfounded and the motorcycle was located.

Suspicious activity, involving a vehicle and three young males, was reported in the 29000 block of 91st Rd.

A hitchhiker was checked in the 20000 block of US 77.

A four wheeler, riding on an oil lease, was reported in the 17000 block of 171st Rd.

Three motorcycles being driven at a high rate of speed was reported in the 18000 block of 202nd Rd.

Justin Ingram, Winfield, was arrested for driving under the influence, transporting an open container, no insurance and no seat belt.

Cattle were reported on the road in the 14000 block of 111th Rd.

Sheriff’s deputies met with a subject at the Winfield Police Department in regards to concerns he had about an incident that had occurred prior to this date and his welfare.

Deputies were contacted about a possible drunk driver that regularly drives from one location to another around midnight in the northwest part of the county.
