Cowley County Sheriff’s Report for June 25, 2012

An injury accident occurred in the 16000 block of US 166 where a bicyclist had wrecked his bike and suffered an injured hip.

Winfield Police officers and deputies assisted the Drug Task Force officers with the execution of a search warrant at 513 E. Third, Winfield. A small amount of suspected math and drug paraphernalia were seized. Dennis E Topper of that address was arrested for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies were dispatched to the BNSF railroad crossing at K 15 east of Udall on a report that a large section of concrete had popped up creating a serious traffic hazard. Deputies and KDOT personnel directed traffic while railroad maintenance personnel repaired the damage.

A license tag was reported stolen from a rural Ark City resident.

A miscellaneous harassment complaint was received at the Hovsepian Trailer Park.

Udall Police officers were assisted by deputies with an investigation of a possible overdose on Kennedy Drive in Udall. Growing out of that investigation, Colleen Ervin of that address was arrested for criminal discharge of a firearm and aggravated assault.

A suspected drunk driver was reported southbound on 21st Rd. from US 160. The vehicle was located in Ark City, but the driver was found not to have been drinking.

Cattle were out in the 13000 block of US 160.

A residential alarm was checked in the 10000 block of 242nd Rd.

A prisoner was transported to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.

Fireworks were reported being detonated behind the old Total Refinery at Ark City.
