Winfield man accused of threatening 2 people with a knife

A Winfield man was arrested on Sunday afternoon after being accused of threatening two people with a knife.

23-year-old Douglas Sivils was booked into the Cowley County Jail on a charge of aggravated burglary and two counts of aggravated assault. He remained in jail Tuesday morning with bond set at $70,000.

Around 3 p.m. Sunday, police were called to an apartment at 1011 Main for the report of a disturbance.

Officers spoke with Sivils wife and a man who said Sivils kicked in the door to the apartment and threatened them with a large bowie knife. Police found Sivils walking away from the apartment and detained him.

He was found to be in possession of a knife.

The apartment was not the Sivils’s residence.
