A Winfield home sustained damage Wednesday afternoon as a result of a house fire.
Fire crews from Winfield, Ark City, and the surrounding area, were called around 4:30 p.m. to a residence in the 2100 block of W. Sixth for the report of a structure fire. Anyone inside was able to leave the home before firefighters arrived.
There was concern about a dog inside in the residence that was later evacuated from the home.
Crews remained on the scene for more than an hour.
