Three Arrested On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop; Late Night Search of Winfield Home

Three people were arrested late Wednesday after a traffic stop in Winfield that led to the search of a nearby home, which had been the subject of numerous complaints regarding drug-related activity.

Just before midnight Wednesday, Winfield Police stopped a vehicle seen leaving a residence in the 300 block of E. 14th.

The stop was made after the driver committed a traffic infraction, and during this stop it was learned the driver had a suspended license, according to a statement from police. Sylvia Stenli, 49, of Winfield was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a narcotic drug, and possession of drug use paraphernalia. Bond for Stenli was set at $12,000.

Based on the traffic stop and previous complaints, police applied for and received a search warrant for a home at 304 E. 14th Apt. B.

At 4:03 a.m. officers with the Winfield Police Department and the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office executed that warrant

Thaddeus Aaron Askins, 41, of Winfield was arrested for possession of meth with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana, cultivation of marijuana, possession of drug sales paraphernalia, possession of drug use paraphernalia, and use of a telecommunication device for sale of illegal drugs. His bond is $19,000.

Tracy Lynn Koller, 30, of Winfield was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school, possession of drug sales paraphernalia, possession of drug use paraphernalia, and use of a telecommunication device for sale of illegal drugs. Her bond is set at $13,000.

All three were booked into the Cowley County Jail and remained there Thursday morning.
