Rachel Deanne Lankton, 48, of Winfield, Kan., passed away Monday afternoon, January 22, 2018, at her home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Winfield. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Friday evening from 5 to 8. The family will greet visitors during this time.
A memorial has been established in Rachel’s name for First Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Born September 9, 1969 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Lindsay D. and Carrol Joan (Drollinger) Rochat. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1988. She then attended Butler County Community College and graduated with an Associate Degree. After school, she worked various jobs including working at Donna’s Designs. She later attended Southwestern College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in December of 2000. She then taught for one year at Edison Elementary in Wichita before accepting a position as fourth grade teacher at Roosevelt Elementary in Arkansas City.
Rachel was united in marriage to Jeremy Lankton on July 31, 2004 in Winfield, Kansas. The couple made their home in Winfield. Rachel continued teaching at Roosevelt until transferring to Arkansas City Middle School in 2015.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winfield where she served on several committees and enjoyed being involved with the youth. She enjoyed decorating, arts and crafts, gardening and helping with Vacation Bible School. She especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters.

Rachel was preceded in death by her mother, Carrol Joan Rochat and her step-mother, Patricia Rochat and brother, Steve Binyon.
