Dr. Andrea Rice Is Taking Over Marcotte Dental Practice In Winfield

Dr. Andrea Rice is purchasing the Winfield practice of long-time local dentist, Dr. Alan Marcotte.

Rice Family Dentistry is hosting an open house on Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is open to the public.

Rice will be seeing patients at the office, 810 Main, on Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays as she completes her commitment with the National Health Service Corps. Dr. Marcotte will maintain a schedule on Thursdays to serve patients requiring skilled specialties like dentures, partials and extractions.

Dr. Rice grew up in rural Kansas, graduating from Burlingame High School. She attended Johnson County Community College and UMKC where she graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and a Bachelor’s degree of Art in Chemistry.

She received her doctorate from UMKC School of Dentistry in 2014.

After graduation, Dr. Andrea started her career at the Flint Hills Community Center in Emporia. She has spent 18 months working with the National Health Service Corps in Emporia, where she participated in public health programs for dentistry.

“Starting my career in public health at National Health Services was fulfilling and educational,” Dr. Rice said. “I learned so much about tailoring dentistry to the needs of families.”

Rice is married to husband, Jonathon and has two children, Alexis, 4, and Riley, 10 months.

She and her family will be residing in Winfield.
