Fire Damages A Home In Winfield Early Monday Morning

A Winfield home was damaged by a fire early this morning.

Just before 3 a.m., fire crews were called to a residence at 915 E. 14th. Flames were showing from the front portion of the house.

The fire took some time to bring under control due to the construction of the home, according Justin Crawford with the Winfield Fire Dept. An official cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

No injuries were immediately reported. The home had electricity and other utilities, however, investigators were still working this morning to determine who lived in the house. Crawford said the fire made the home unlivable.

Another sweep of the home will also be conducted to confirm no one was inside at the time of the fire.
