Two people were arrested late Saturday following an altercation that occurred in rural Cowley County.
Around 10 p.m., sheriff deputies were called to the 5000 block of 286th Rd. for a report that someone had been shot. Authorities arrived to find that no one had been shot.
Upon further investigation, however, 32-year-old Jeremy Bell, of Geuda Springs, and 51-year-old Johnny Jackson, of Udall, were arrested and booked into jail.
During a heated discussion between the two men, Bell is accused of a firing a gun into the air and Jackson is accused of trying to run over Bell with a vehicle.
Jail records indicate Bell was still in jail this morning. Jackson was not listed in the inmate roster.
No injuries were reported.
