February 23

Deputy responded to the 31,000 block of US 77 Hwy for a report of a man lying on his backpack. The man was checked and everything was okay.

Deputy responded to 61st Rd and 312th Rd for a report of debris in the roadway. There was nothing in the road when the deputy arrived.

Funeral escort from Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City to Highland Cemetary in Winfield.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1,000 block K-15 Hwy for a report of a reckless driver. When deputy got to the area the driver was no longer there.

Burden Police Department received a call of a possible suicidal subject at the Winfield Lake. Deputies and Burden Officers found the subject at the lake. The subject was found and everything was found to be okay.

Motorists assist in the 19000 Blk of US 77 Hwy. It was determined the individuals were looking for a cat that may have been hit by a vehicle.

Longhorn cow was out in the 7000 Blk of 26th Rd. The owner was not at home and the cow was put into a pasture.

Deputy responded to the area of 5000 274th Drive for a scam. Reporting party received a pop up screen on their computer stating they had a virus. The number on the screen was called and access to the computer was given remotely to the caller. After allegedly fixing the issue computer tech wanted a check sent to him. The Reporting party realized it was a scam. No money was sent and he took action to prevent his personal information from being used.

Report was taken for a non-injury car/deer accident in the 22000 Blk of 31st Rd. Corey Jennings was driving a 2004, black Infiniti south on 31st Rd when they struck a deer in the roadway.

Cowley County Deputy responded to a burglary report in the 500 Blk of Omnia in Atlanta. Victim’s motorhome was entered while he was gone. No items appeared to have been taken.

Report of a black cow out in the 3000 Blk of 132nd Rd. A cow was located and was put into a nearby field.

Motorists assist in the 13000 Blk of US 77 Hwy. Driver lost a tire on his vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 6000 Blk of 322nd Rd for a juvenile runaway.

Report of 2 vehicles racing in the 22000 Blk of US 77 HWY. Vehicles turned west on 202nd Rd but were not located.

Deputy responded to an alarm call in the 2000 Blk of Country Club Rd in Winfield. Everything was found to be okay.

February 24

Report of suspicious activity in the 9000 Blk of US 166 Hwy.

Cowley County Deputies responded to a 911 call in the area of the 2000 Blk of US 166 Hwy for a disturbance. A female had called to report her husband had kicked her out of their vehicle and was throwing her items all over the road. Large area was checked, however, the caller did not leave a name and Deputies were unable to locate her or the vehicle. There was no response on call back from her phone.

Vehicle was checked in the 6000 Blk of 252nd Rd. No one was found in the vehicle or area.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Lynn Dean Harms of Nebraska for Driving Under the Influence in the 15,000 block of US 77 Highway.

Deputy responded to an address in the 33,000 block of Tower Rd for an open line on 911. The house was secure and appeared there was no one home.

Deputy met with two individuals at the Winfield Police Department about exchanging property.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested James Eugene Allen of Grenola for Driving Under the Influence in the 23,000 block of US 160 Highway.

Deputy took a report of two chainsaws stolen from the 18,000 block of 142nd Rd between 2/11/18 and 2/23/18.

Deputies responded to the 12,000 block of US 77 hwy for a report of a reckless driver. The vehicle was no longer in the area when deputies arrived.

Deputy took a report of the theft of a skidsteer which occurred on 2/23/2018.

Deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of US 166 Hwy for a welfare check on a child. Caller reported seeing the driver, and an adult male, strike a child with his hand while in the Sonic parking area.

Motorists assist in the 1200 Blk of east Kansas Ave.

Cowley County Deputy was requested by the Highway Patrol for back-up on a traffic stop in the 8000 Blk of US 77 Hwy. Driver of the stop was being arrested and was non- compliant. 9:30 PM 02-24-18 Cowley County Deputies attempted 12 warrants throughout the evening. One individual, Gage Eastman was arrested for Flee and Elude and Possession of Marijuana.

Suspicious activity in the 34000 Blk of 262nd Rd. Caller reported headlights in their pasture. It was determined later to be a reflection from another light source.

Audible alarm in the 2000 Blk of Country Club Rd in Winfield. Everything was found to be okay.

Reckless driver reported on Chestnut Ave. east of the bypass in a Black Ford 4 door vehicle. It was not located.

Deputy responded to a non-injury car/deer accident in the 1000 Blk of US 160 Hwy. The driver, Cori Deill, was driving a 2014 Kia when she struck a deer in the roadway.

Deputies assisted the Winfield Police Dept. in looking for a suicidal subject in the county.

February 25

Report of a black bull near the roadway in the 28000 Blk of K-15 Hwy. Bull was not located.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the 200 Blk of Larry in Udall for a disturbance to assist Udall Police.

Report of suspicious vehicle in the 31000 Blk of 53rd Rd.

Warrant was served on Brian Clark and he was arrested for Felony Theft

February 26

Cowley County Deputies responded to the 14000 Blk of 8th St in Silverdale for a disturbance involving intoxicated individuals. A female at the residence had reportedly taken an overdose to harm herself. She was transported to the William Newton Hospital.

Deputies assisted Ark City Police in looking for a black SUV with no taillights that had fled from a traffic stop. Suspect had turned east in the 6000 Blk of 312th Rd. The vehicle was not located.

A patient released from the William Newton Hospital had no transportation to get home. He was given a ride.
