Cowley County Sheriff’s Record for March 9-11, 2018

March 9

Deputies were dispatched to Atlanta for a disturbance. When deputies arrived the individuals were in Butler County with their officers.

Report made of a tag that was lost in the 14000 block 291st Rd. between 2/18/18 and 3/9/18.

Deputies dispatched to the intersection of 102nd Rd and US 160 Hwy for a report of a black cow in the road. The owner was notified and put the cow up.

Deputy responded to the 6000 block of 312th Rd. for an animal complaint.

Report of a female driving while suspended in the 2000 Blk of Main. Vehicle was already parked when it was located.

Road rage incident was reported in the 27000 Blk of Us 77 Hwy.

Deputy checked on a report of a cow out in the 14000 Blk of 82nd Rd. The cow was not located.

911 call in the 6000 Blk of Tower Rd with kids heard in the background. Several house were checked but all reported they had not made the call.

Cowley County Deputies responded to a three car injury accident in the 10000 Blk of US 166 Hwy. Scott Johnston was driving a red 2009 Jeep Wrangler westbound when he was attempting to make a left turn on 101st Rd. William Riddick III was driving a white Saturn Vue and was also westbound behind Johnston when he did not stop in time and struck Johnston from behind. Riddick then struck Ronald Fortner driving a white 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe. Fortner was trying to avoid the accident and was hit in the side causing him to roll his Hyundai. Riddick was injured and taken by EMS to South Central Kansas Regional Center. He was cited for following to close.

Deputy responded to a non-injury car/deer accident in the 15000 Blk of US 160 Hwy. Theresa Jones was driving a black 2005 Chevy SUV traveling east when she struck a deer in the roadway.

An individual in the 29000 Blk of Eastridge reported two men trying to scam him for work done on a roof. Men were reported to be driving a black Chevy truck. The men used a few tubes of caulking on the roof and then wanted paid a large amount of money. They were not paid and left the area.

Juvenile drinking party was reported near 11000 Blk of 1stth Rd. Sumner County Deputies located them on the Cowley County side and the crowd drove off before Cowley County Deputies arrived.

Motorist’s assist in the 30000 Blk of US 77 Hwy. Driver was just waiting on a friend.

Deputy responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 28000 Blk of 121st Rd. It was determined to have been driven by a friend of one of the owners that had given permission. The other owner was concerned with the borrower driving it and legal issues with the insurance. company.

A vehicle on the side of the road in the 5000 Blk of US 166 Hwy was checked on by a Deputy.

March 10

Deputy checked on a van parked on railroad property at K-15 Hwy and US 77 Highway. Everything was found to be okay.

Deputy responded to the 6000 block 151st Rd for a report of cattle out. The cattle were put away.

Deputy found cattle to be in the roadway in the 21000 block 151st Road. Cattle were put away.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 16000 block of 111th Rd for a report of a reckless driver. The vehicle was no longer in the area when deputies arrived.

Deputy responded to the 5000 block 286th Rd. reference an animal complaint.

Report of a reckless driver northbound on 21st Rd from US 160 Highway. Deputies were not in the area at the time of the complaint. The vehicle was no longer in the area when deputies arrived.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the 29000 block of 91st Rd. for a Criminal Damage to Property report.

Deputy responded to the 8000 block 312th Rd. for a complaint of someone shooting in the area.

Report of cattle out in the 15000 Blk of 212th Rd.

Possible drunk driver in the 1000 Blk of K-15 Hwy. It was reported that a silver Dodge Ram was weaving in and out of traffic. It was not located.

Motorist’s assist in the 8000 Blk of US 166 Hwy. Vehicle had broken down and they were working on removing it.

Deputy responded to a property dispute in the 30000 Blk of Shady Oak Dr.

An individual called to report a dead deer in the roadway in the 26000 Blk of 85th Rd. The deer was removed.

Deputy responded to a possible drunk driver in the 1000 Blk of K-15 Hwy. It was reported a white Ford F250 was not maintaining his lane. Vehicle arrived at his home and was found parked before the Deputy was able to locate it.

Cowley County Deputies responded to the Rock area for a report of several juveniles dressed in all black acting suspicious. The juveniles were located and were just out enjoying the evening with friends.

Deputies assisted the Winfield Police Dept. in locating a missing person in the 600 Blk of Thistle Rd. The individual returned home several hours later.

Individual reported a child sitting outside alone at a home in the 33000 Blk of 61st Rd and she was concerned for him. Deputy responded and found the child was with his mother on the porch and was fine.

Cattle reported out in the 28000 Blk of 251st Rd. No cattle were located.

March 11

Deputy was dispatched to ACPD to talk to a subject in the lobby

Deputy was dispatched to the 15000 block of US 160 HWY for a report of an injured deer.

Deputy was dispatched to the 14000 block of 21st RD for a complaint of a reckless driver.

Deputies were dispatched to the 33000 block of 61st for a physical disturbance. Parties had separated prior to Deputies arriving. Female refused transport by EMS. Report was filed.

Deputy was dispatched to Winfield Police Department for a battery report on a juvenile that occurred in the County. A report was generated.
