Stolen Truck Turns Up In A Field Near Ark City Saturday Morning

Cowley County Sheriff’s investigators Saturday recovered a stolen vehicle that was found in a field in rural Ark City.

Around 8:50 a.m., a sheriff’s deputy was called to Lord Rd., east of Ark City, for the report of a stolen vehicle. The 2011 Chevy pickup was taken from a location in the 8000 block of U.S. 166 highway.

A few hours later, at about 11:30 a.m., Ark City Fire-Ems and the sheriff’s department were sent to the 9000 block of 312th Rd., south of Ark City, for the report of an accident. The 2011 Chevy pickup was discovered in a field.

No driver or occupants were located.

The vehicle was removed from the field by the sheriff’s dept. An investigation is continuing.
