A man was injured this morning in an injury accident in northern Cowley County, near Atlanta, that involved a mail truck.
Around 6 a.m., Cowley County sheriff’s deputies and emergency response personnel were sent to an accident in the area of 171st and 32nd Rds. Radio traffic from the scene indicated a man was injured and would be transported to the hospital in Winfield.
The driver is believed to have overcorrected for an unknown reason and left the roadway.
Arrangements were being made to have the vehicle towed from the scene.
The U.S. Postal Service planned to have the mail taken to the post office in Atlanta so that it could be delivered.
