ACPD Looking For Gray Truck Stolen From Reedy Ford; Second Truck Found

One of two vehicles stolen from Reedy Ford in Ark City has been recovered in Sumner County, local police said Friday.

An arrest also has been made in Sumner County in connection with the stolen vehicle investigation. Authorities in that county did not immediately return a call from NewsCow Friday afternoon, in regard to more information on the vehicle recovery and arrest.

Officers were dispatched Monday to Reedy Ford, located at 3319 N. Summit St., for a report of two trucks that had been stolen — a gray 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 and a white 2011 GMC Sierra 1500. Together, the trucks had a retail value in excess of $36,000.

The vehicles were removed from the dealership parking lot around 2:47 a.m. Sunday. The GMC Sierra since has been recovered in Sumner County, but the Dodge Ram has not been found yet.

Chase Hobart, with the Ark City police dept., told NewsCow the gray truck maybe connected to the theft of a go kart and trailer in Derby.

“Certainly it is an ongoing investigation that involves multiple jurisdictions,” he said.

Both trucks are believed to have been used to commit other crimes.

Police suspect the drivers involved in the theft were accompanied by a silver newer-model Cadillac CTS and a red late-1980s or early-1990s Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Anyone who has any information about this crime or the missing Dodge Ram 2500 is asked to call the Arkansas City Police Department at (620) 441-4444.
