A property owner from the NE part of the County contacted the Sheriff’s Office in reference to damage to his fence from an incident from the previous night.
Deputies responded to the 30000 block of 31st RD for a trespassing complaint. The subject was located and advised to stay off private property. While in the area Deputies located stolen property from out of state. Property was collected.
Deputy spoke with a subject at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a possible scam.
Deputies responded to the 16000 block of 131st RD for a trespassing complaint. Deputies were unable to locate anyone in the area.
Subject called and made a driving complaint about semi trucks in the 19000 block of 51st RD.
Deputy was dispatched to the 1000 block of US 77 HWY for a reckless driver complaint out of Butler County. Vehicle was not located.
Deputy spoke with subject at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a four wheeler complaint in the Pleasant Valley area.
Deputy was dispatched to the 15000 block of US 77 HWY for a reckless driver complaint. Vehicle was not located.
Subject contacted the Sheriff’s Office in reference to suspicious activity in the 16000 block of 111th RD.
Deputy responded to River Creek Rd for an animal complaint
Deputy responded to the 2000 block of 141st RD for a theft report.
Suspicious activity report in the 29000 block of 99th RD.
Reckless Driver complaint in the 9000 block of US 77 HWY. Vehicle was not located.
Suspicious activity reported in the 29000 Blk of 99th RD. It was reported that an unknown white Chevy Suburban was in the area.
Vehicle was checked on in the Grouse Creek Rd area. The vehicle was having mechanical issues.
Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to sounds of gunfire in the Kaw Wildlife area near Total Refinery. No one was found in the area.
March 24
Deputy stopped a driver for a traffic infraction in the 3000 Blk of US 77 Hwy. The driver, Preston Scott Shields, was arrested for Driving Without an Interlock Device, Illegal Tag, No Insurance, and for an out of county warrant for Fail to Appear for Sentencing.
Deputy responded to Lord RD for a stolen vehicle report. The 2011 Chevrolet Pickup is being reported as stolen from the 8000 block of US 166 HWY.
Deputy responded to the 31000 block of 61st RD for a burglary report.
Arkansas City Fire and Deputies responded to the 9000 block of 312th RD for an accident. The stolen vehicle from earlier was discovered in a field no driver located. Vehicle was removed.
Deputy assisted with Funeral escort.
Deputy responded to the 5000 of 332nd RD for a burglary report.
Leslie Hendershot was arrested on a Cowley County warrant at 292nd RD and Hovsepian.
March 25
Deputy was dispatched to the 21000 block of K15 HWY for a report of cows out. Cows were run back into the pasture and owner was contacted.
Deputy was disapatched to the the 8000 block of Kansas LN for an animal complaint.
Deputy was dispatched to the 18000 block of Country Club
Deputy was dispatched to the 13000 block of 212th RD for a report of cows in the roadway.
Deputy was dispatched to a driving complaint in the 28000 block of US 166 HWY.
Deputy was dispatched to a reckless driving complaint in the 8000 block of 21st RD.
Report of a black cow in the roadway in the 25000 Blk of US 160 Hwy. Owner had located and retrieved the cow before the Deputies arrival.
Deputy responded to a possible drunk driver in the 7000 252nd RD. It was reported as a white Ford F-150. The vehicle was not located.
March 26
The Cowley County Jail was a victim of Criminal Damage to Property when a sprinkler head was damaged by an inmate.
Cowley County Deputy took a report in the 11000 Blk of Nishan Lane for Burglary and Theft of ID. Sarah Farthing was arrested at the scene for a warrant regarding a traffic citation.
