Ark City Man Recovering After Rollover Accident Friday Evening

A local man is continuing to recover from injuries he sustained in a rollover accident south of Ark City on Friday.

Lucas Myers, of Ark City, was hospitalized, but through social media, he told friends and family he was expected to make a full recovery.

Just before 8 p.m., Myers was driving southbound on U.S. 77 highway in his 1964 Chevy truck when he hydroplaned and lost control of the vehicle. The accident occurred as roadway conditions deteriorated due to cold and wet weather.

Jose Bedolla was a passenger in the truck. In a Facebook update on the accident Saturday, Myers credited Bedolla and Ethan Tauscher with rescuing him at the crash scene.

“I was ejected from my truck last night and pinned under the truck. These two saved my life, Jose lifted the truck up on his own while Ethan drug me out. Thank you both, many happy tears this morning.”

Myers suffered a broken arm and head and back injuries in the crash.
