Ark City Police Seek Tips In Golf Course Burglary

The Arkansas City Police Department is asking for assistance and information in identifying persons involved in a burglary this week at a local golf course.

Sometime between 9 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, one or more suspects broke in to several golf cart sheds at Spring Hill Golf Course, located at 3202 N. Summit St. in north Arkansas City.

They stole a golf cart, a putting green flagpole, six round tee yardage markers, a Bushnell laser yardage finder, tan and Pittsburg State University windbreakers, and a pair of Sketcher golf shoes.

The suspects made their way south from the golf course to a dirt road located north of the Arkansas City Middle School athletic facilities in the 400 block of East Osage Avenue. Their actual route is unclear.

Anyone who has any information about this crime or the missing items — or who might have witnessed any suspicious activity in Brad Meek Addition or points north to the golf course — is asked to call the Arkansas City Police Department at (620) 441-4444.

Also, police are asking anyone who has surveillance cameras between the golf course and the 400 block of East Osage Avenue to check their systems for any video footage of the suspects or golf cart.

Those wishing to remain anonymous may contact Cowley County Crime Stoppers, which offers rewards of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Call (620) 442-7777 in Arkansas City or (620) 221-7777 in Winfield, or visit www.tipsubmit.com or accs.crimestoppersweb.com to make an anonymous report.
