Alice Schwartz

Alice M. Schwartz, 100, of Winfield, Kan., passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Winfield Senior Living Community.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, July 6 at Central Baptist Church in Winfield. Burial will follow at 2 P.M. at White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita. Visitation will be held at the Shelley Family Funeral Home Thursday, July 5 from 4-7 P.M., the family will greet friends from 5-7. Memorials can be given to Ronald McDonald House Charites or Central Baptist Church, contributions may be left in care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home – 803 Loomis St. Winfield, KS 67156.

Alice was born February 19, 1918 in Argonia to Albert O. and Amanda L. (Dennis) Jesseph.  She was united in marriage to Emery B. Schwartz August 16, 1938 in Erie, Kansas.

Alice enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading.  She was a resident at Winfield Senior Living Community for close to eleven years, where she enjoyed playing dirty bingo and collecting pull tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. She was member of several gardening clubs in Wichita and a member of Central Baptist Church, Winfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Emery, daughter Emily “Chris” Snook, her brothers Albert, Henry & Dennis and sisters Margaret Hodges Bitz, Beulah Purcell, and Martha Ireton.

She is survived by granddaughter Shelly Willis and husband Dennis of Winfield; grandson David Harless and wife Kristine MacWithey of Wichita; two great-grandchildren Allie Willis of Winfield and Austin Harless of Wichita and son-in-law Dale Snook of Winfield.
