The Arkansas City Police Department is seeking information about the whereabouts of an Arkansas City man after executing a warrant at his residence.
Daniel Cialkowski, 40, is suspected of aggravated battery in connection with an incident Sunday in east Ark City. He also is wanted by the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) as an absconder.
A victim of an aggravated battery came to the Arkansas City Police Department around 1:30 p.m. Sunday to report the crime. She reported that she had been struck from behind with a baseball bat.
The victim, a 50-year-old Arkansas City female, was transported by the Arkansas City Fire-EMS Department in an ambulance to South Central Kansas Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
The victim said she had been asked to go to a residence in the 400 block of East Washington Avenue. When she arrived, she was struck with the bat. She identified Cialkowski as her attacker.
Officers obtained a search warrant for Cialkowski’s residence to collect evidence of the alleged crime.
Further investigation turned up his KDOC warrant as an absconder. Due to the violent nature of the alleged crime and his criminal history, Southern Kansas SWAT was contacted for assistance.
The warrant was executed today at Cialkowski’s residence, but he was not present at the time.
