ACPD Assists With Federal Warrant Arrest; Another Taken In On Local Warrant

The Arkansas City Police Department arrested a man and assisted U.S. Marshals with arresting a woman today at the local Walmart Supercenter.

Vanessa Hull, 34, was arrested on an outstanding federal warrant by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Dylan Carpenter, 24, was arrested on suspicion of criminal use of a firearm, possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine. He also was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in Cowley County District Court in Winfield.

Carpenter was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield through Winfield district court. Both Carpenter and Hull remained in custody at the time of this release.

Officers obtained information today that Hull would be at Walmart, located at 2701 N. Summit St.

With the help of ACPD, she was arrested by marshals without incident. Carpenter was with Hull at the time of her arrest. After he was found with an outstanding warrant, he also was taken into custody.

A search of their vehicle resulted in the recovery of a handgun, marijuana and methamphetamine.
