One person was killed and another was critically injured this evening in an accident on old U.S. 77 highway south of Winfield.
Around 5:40 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the report of an accident on the old highway, now known as 85th Rd. One person was dead at the scene.
The roadway in that area was closed to traffic as the scene was processed.
A second person was being taken to the hospital for further treatment. Very little additional information has been released, so far.
