Fire crews were called to a structure fire late Sunday night in the 500 block of N. Michigan in Winfield.
According to Winfield Fire Marshal Chad Mayberry Monday, the front porch of a mobile home in lot 19 was on fire when crews arrived and that the flames extended inside the home. All five of the home’s occupants escaped the fire when firefighters arrived.
Mayberry said the call came at 11:38 p.m. and crews left just before midnight.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and monetary damages have not been assessed, though Mayberry said the structure is not considered a total loss.
