A Cowley County man is dead after an accident on U.S. 160 early Wednesday morning.
According to a news release from Cowley County Sheriff Dave Falletti, deputies with the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched at approximately 6:48 a.m. to the 2000 block of U.S. 160 for an unknown injury accident.
The investigation revealed that a white 2016 Dodge Caravan, owned by Best Cabs Inc. out of Wichita and driven by 54 year-old James Johnson of Wichita, was traveling east on U.S. 160 and crossed the center line colliding with a red 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 39 year-old Joshua Mosqueda of Cowley County who was traveling west on U.S. 160.
An air ambulance was called to the scene but did not transport.
Falletti told KSOK-NewsCow at the scene that Johnson suffered minor injuries, including a laceration to a leg.
Both drivers were transported by EMS to the William Newton Hospital for injuries. Mosqueda was pronounced deceased upon arrival and Johnson was treated for unknown injuries.
