Reba Mooney

Reba Lee Mooney, 88, of Udall, Kansas, passed away Friday afternoon, April 12, 2019 at her home.

Born February 8, 1931 in Stanley, New Mexico, she was the daughter of Chester Jackson and Rebecca (Vineyard) Fisher. She was raised and received her education in Stanley until moving to Keene, Texas to complete her senior year of high school and then attend Southwestern Adventist College.

Reba was united in marriage to James N. Mooney on January 29, 1951 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The couple made their first home in Hot Springs before moving to Udall, Kansas in 1952. Reba was a dedicated homemaker, helping on the family farm and raising their children. She also helped raise many of her grandchildren and several foster children.

She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, reading, and working jig-saw puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Her family includes her daughter Donna Heath and husband, Thomas; son Jim Mooney, Sr. and wife, Diana; her grandchildren, Sonja Unsell and husband, Adam; Derek Bower and wife, Erin; Jim Mooney, Jr. and wife, Tina; Jayme McEntire and husband, Cory; Justin Mooney; Ondrea Peppel and husband, Chris; Ryan Marsh; Shawn Dutcher; Jason Luse and wife, Megan; Kris Sims; Matt Sims and wife, Angela; Nick Sims; her great grandchildren, Grant, Stella, Abigail, Adrian, Alyssa, Alaina, Gretta, Violet, Ivy, Christopher, Cameron, Kayla, Trenton, Tavian, Kristen, Kurtis, Khloe, Matthew, Susan, Mark, Amber, Amanda, Nicholas, Xoie, Vandyn, Jolenne; and her great-great grandchildren, Paislee, Haelynn, Miles, MacKenzie, Micah, Markus, and Harlow.

In addition to her parents and five siblings, Reba was preceded in death by her ex-husband James Mooney and two daughters Retta Timmons and Carla Marsh.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sedan, Kansas. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
