Virginia Emmons

Virginia Nellas “Virgie” Emmons, 59, of Cambridge, KS passed away Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019, at the Cornerstone Christian Church in Atlanta, KS. Pastor Jason Elstun will officiate. Burial will follow in the Latham Cemetery, Latham, KS. Friends may greet the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home and Crematory.
Virgie was born May 30, 1959, to Simaco and Celirina (Lisondra) Nellas in Cebu City, Philippines. She was reared and educated in Cebu City, Phillippines, graduating from Cantilo Negros Oriental High School. After high school Virgie attended and graduated from San Carlos University.
On June 21, 1989, she married Dudley Emmons in Cebu City. The couple made their home in Cambridge, KS. Virgie worked as a CNA for ResCare Southwinds in Winfield for many years. Virgie loved spending time outdoors, especially her garden. Most of all she cherished her family and grandchildren. She lived her life with selfless compassion, and gave with an open heart.
Survivors include her daughter Trisha Emmons of Winfield, KS; son USAF SSgt Jake Emmons of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Kyran and Aurora; siblings Guillerma “Ima” Nellas, Durano Avelino “Ite” Nellas, Sinforiano “Simpor” Nellas.
Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dudley, and siblings Teodolo “Doling” Nellas, Librado “Bado” Nellas, Mariano “Maning” Nellas, and Asisclo “Iclo” Nellas.
A memorial has been established for Virginia’s Grandchildren’s Education Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home and Crematory.
