Dustin Lee Scott, 46, of Winfield lost his battle with congestive heart failure Sunday, May 12, 2019 with his family by his side.
Dusty was born May 8, 1973 in Winfield, the son of Dan and Linda (Stegelman) Scott. He was raised in Winfield and Loveland, Colorado and later returned to Winfield. Dustin gave his heart to the Lord at the young age of 13. Dusty and Billie Potestio had a son, Malachi in 1991. He married Jamee Yoder on July 12, 2001. The couple had a daughter, Madison and Dusty adopted Jamee’s son, Damian. They later divorced but remained best friends.
Dusty enjoyed fishing, camping, whittling, and spending time at the dam. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Dusty is survived by his sons, Malachi Scott, of Loveland, CO; and Damian Scott and wife, Carley stationed in Aviano, Italy; his daughter Madison Scott of Winfield; his parents Dan and Linda Scott of Lake Ozark, MO; his grandmother, Lila Scott of Topeka, KS; his sister Christie Bolejack and husband, Steve of Topeka, KS; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dutch and Doris Stegelman and grandfather Jack Scott.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Madison Scott Education Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
