Cheryl McCully

Cheryl Nadine (Funk) McCully, 66, of Winfield passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at her home with her family by her side.

Family and friends are welcome to attend Cheryl’s Celebration of Life service from 1-4 PM Friday, May 24 at 615 W. Birch in Arkansas City. Memorial contributions in Cheryl’s name may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society and the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.

Cheryl was born on March 15, 1953 in Galina, Kansas the daughter of Clifford and Evelyn (Williams) Funk. She graduated from Parkwood High School in Joplin, Missouri in 1972. She was united in marriage with David McCully in Joplin on March 20, 1971. Cheryl was beautiful inside and out and was passionate making people feel their best, she graduated from the cosmetology program at Cowley County Community College in 1984, she taught cosmetology classes for 22 years and also worked in nursing homes and multiple local salons. She enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola products, carnival glass and online shopping, her favorite flowers were roses and carnations, she also loved animals.

Surviving to honor her in memory are her sons: Michael (Mic) McCully and wife Amy, Nicholas (Nic) McCully, and Schaun McCully; ex-husband David McCully; siblings: Tina Funk, Charles Funk, Janette Funk and Jeanette Trent; as well as 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents.
