Eudora Nida

Eudora Nida, 88, of Winfield, Kan., passed away Friday morning, May 31, 2019, at William Newton Hospital.

Born August 28, 1930 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Charles Thomas and Veda Cathleen (Bostick) Graham. She was raised and received her education in Wichita and Pleasanton, Kansas. She graduated from Wichita North High School in 1948.

She was united in marriage to Dr. Milton T. Nida on February 14, 1952 in Arkansas. The couple made their first home in Wichita where Eudora began working for the Social Security Administration. In 1962, the family moved to Winfield, where Milton began his Chiropractic practice and Eudora was a homemaker, raising their children. In 1975, she returned to work for the Social Security Administration, where she remained for over 20 years before retiring. Dr. Nida preceded her in death on December 26, 1995.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Winfield. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards with friends, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Her family includes her son Kenneth Nida and wife, Linda of Webb City, MO; her daughter Cathleen McKimson of Winfield; her grandchildren, Christie Samples and husband, Arlen of Winfield; Roger McKimson and wife, Stacy of Arkansas City; Christy McKimson of Wichita; Robert McKimson and wife, Amanda of Winfield; and her great grandchildren, Marsha and Elizabeth.

In addition to her parents and husband, Eudora was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Graham, an infant brother Marvin Graham, and a sister Shirley Thornburg.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Inurnment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Eudora’s name for Truth Talk at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
