Winfield Man Tasered And Arrested Monday Following Incident With Police

A Winfield man remains in custody following his arrest this week for an incident that police said involved a knife.

48-year-old Michael Bowman was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer. He remained in custody Wednesday with bond set at $20,000.

On Monday, police were called to the 900 block of E. 11th Ave. to check on the well-being of a man later identified as Bowman.

Officers arrived to find a man holding a knife in his hand and acting oddly. Bowman was said to be uncooperative at the scene and would not comply with officers requests, according to Chad Gordon with the Winfield Police Dept.

He had the knife displayed and was making comments to the officers.

A Taser was used to subdue Bowman and he was arrested. No injuries were reported.
