A Winfield driver was arrested after fleeing Cowley County Sheriff Deputies Sunday, according to the sheriff office’s daily activity report.

At approximately 12:01 a.m. Sunday, deputies attempted to stop a 1995 black Acura Integra in the 22,000 block of U.S. 77  for speeding.

The vehicle failed to yield to emergency vehicles and continued northbound at speeds over 100 mph.

The vehicle then pulled over to the shoulder at 81st and U.S, 77 after intercepted by another deputy at that intersection. The driver, Danny Thongsavanh of Winfield, was arrested for Flee and Elude and multiple other violations.

Thongsavanh was transported to the Cowley County Jail. His vehicle was towed for expired tag and no proof of insurance.

As of Wednesday Thongsavanh was no longer listed on the county’s jail roster.
