Woman Sent To Hospital After Injury Crash North Of Winfield Thursday

A woman was taken to a Wichita hospital Thursday morning following a motor vehicle accident north of Winfield.

Sometime after 6 a.m., the Cowley County Sheriff’s Dept. was called to the 12000 block of U.S. 77 highway for an injury accident. Upon arrival, there was a vehicle in the roadway, one in the east shoulder and another in the west ditch.

20-year-old Emily Crawford, of Rock, was driving a black 2012 Chevy Cruse northbound as Timothy Ballowe, 22, Hallsville, Texas, was driving a 2015 Honda Civic south bound, according to a report from the sheriff’s dept.

Both vehicles collided near the centerline, causing injuries and disabling both vehicles.

A 2016 Toyota Corolla hit debris in the roadway, which caused damage to the front of the vehicle.

Crawford was transported to Wesley Medical Center by EMS, treated and later discharged. B & L towed two vehicles due to damage while the driver of the Corolla was able to drive away from the scene.
