ACPD: Progress Made In Ark City Vet Burglary Case

The Ark City Police Department has identified two possible suspects in a burglary that occurred Nov. 25 at a veterinary clinic in east-central Ark City, according to a press release Wednesday, however no names were released.

Around 11:01 p.m. Nov. 25, an Ark City police officer noticed damage at the Ark Veterinary Associates building, located at 907 E. Kansas Ave.

A building check revealed evidence of a burglary.

Money and video recording equipment were stolen from the business. An ensuing investigation found a video recording system that had been removed from the business in a field to the west, with the help of the Blue Line Trackers. Video surveillance footage was recovered from the system.

This footage was posted to the police department’s Facebook page and analyzed so as to narrow down the field of suspects. Two people were identified as suspects based on their physical description.

The two suspects, a 36-year-old Ark City woman and a 28-year-old Ark City man, were contacted and interviewed Dec. 13 by officers.

The investigation is being turned over to the Cowley County Attorney’s Office for the consideration of possible charges in connection with the incident.
