Ark City Police Arrest Nebraska Man For DUI

A Nebraska man was arrested Tuesday for DUI, according to a news release from the Ark City Police Department.

The ACPD arrested a Nebraska man Tuesday in connection with a non-injury traffic accident early in the morning on Christmas Eve.

Joshua Lee Cox, 28, of Scribner, Neb., was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence. He was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield on a $750 bond through Arkansas City Municipal Court.

Cox since has posted bond and been released from jail.

Officers responded at 1:12 a.m. Dec. 24 to a traffic accident in the 800 block of South Summit Street. They found that a red 2011 Chevrolet Equinox had been northbound on Summit when it had struck a 2004 Mercury that was parked legally on the side of the street.

The impact pushed the Mercury into a 2002 Dodge pickup truck, which also was parked legally in front of the Mercury. No injuries were reported in connection with the accident.

Cox, the driver of the 2011 Chevrolet, subsequently was arrested for driving under the influence.
