Sheriff Deputies Respond To Pair Of Auto Accidents; Missouri Man Injured In Rollover

Cowley County Sheriff deputies worked two automobile accidents Wednesday, according to the sheriff office’s daily activity report released Thursday.

Wednesday morning deputies responded to 322nd Road and U.S. 77 south of Ark City for a one vehicle rollover accident.

Gerald Wilkerson of Missouri was northbound in the 33000 block of U.S. 77 at approximately 8:55 a.m. when he lost control of his green Chevy Caviler and entered into the east ditch. The car traveled through the ditch, rolled over and came to a rest. Wilkerson was transported to South Central Kansas Medical Center for treatment.

Later in the day, at 12:23 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of 101st Road and 292nd Road southeast of Parkerfield for a one vehicle injury accident.

Brandy Long of Ark City was eastbound on 292nd Road when she lost control of her red Toyota Corolla and left the road and entered the south ditch. The car continued to travel through the ditch until it came to a rest in a hedge row.

Long refused medical treatment at the scene.
