The series, now in its second year, will again host free concerts on Thursday evenings at the Island Park Performance Venue throughout the summer.

June 25 – Handmade Moments, soul folk duo who play an eclectic grouping of instruments will come to Winfield from Arkansas, though the group tours extensively throughout North America and Europe. Opening support will come from a contemporary bluegrass outfit hailing from St. Louis, One Way Traffic.

July 16 – Josh Hoyer & the Soul Colossal will bring soul, funk, and R&B to Island Park. Hoyer was a contestant on NBC’s The Voice and now tours the country with an extremely talented and soulful 5-piece band. Jeremy Spring of the bands Crusoe and Abandon Kansas out of Wichita will open.

August 6 – William Clark Green, a popular country music singer-songwriter from Texas, promises to be a big finish to the 2020 summer series with help from the Tequilla Songbirds a trio of “musical sisters” from Oklahoma, who will open the evening with their Americana roots sound.

“This is an extremely exciting concert lineup — we have so much talent coming to Winfield this summer,” stated Jill Long, who is serving as the Island Park Productions chairperson. “We ’can’t wait for community members to bring their picnic baskets and lawn chairs to Island Park to share in the experience of great live music. It is going to be a fantastic summer.”

Island Park productions, the group of volunteers responsible for organizing the concert series, is working to secure sponsorships. Individuals, businesses, and organizations interested in supporting free concerts at Island Park should contact the Winfield Chamber of Commerce to learn more about remaining sponsorship opportunities.
