Ark City High School has canceled classes for Friday due to a gas leak, according to USD 470 Thursday night.
All other schools in the district will be open as usual.
Earlier Thursday, ACHS posted on its Facebook page that school officials were made aware of a gas smell outside the high school Thursday morning.
A gas utility provider checked the lines and later told school officials crews were unable to isolate a detected leak as of Thursday night.
ACHS said classes were canceled for Friday as a precaution.
A gas leak was also detected last Thursday and shut down the intersection of Radio Lane and N. 8th St. for most of the afternoon.
