Juvenile Arrested For Stabbing In Winfield; Victim Transported To Wichita

A 42-year-old man was stabbed by a juvenile Thursday night in Winfield, according to a news release from the Winfield Police Department Friday.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Winfield police officers and Winfield Fire/EMS were dispatched to the 3500 block of Pike Road for a traumatic injury.

When officers arrived, it was learned the victim, a 42-year-old male, had been stabbed by a juvenile individual. Through the investigation, on-scene officers learned there had been a domestic disturbance prior to and leading up tho the stabbing.

The victim was transported to William Newton Hospital in Winfield by EMS and transferred to Wesley hospital in Wichita for additional treatment.

The juvenile was taken into custody, charged with aggravated battery and turned over to juvenile justice authorities.

Police say no names will be listed due to the nature of this incident and the arrested party being a juvenile.

“This was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community,” the release said.
