Ark City-based Creekstone Farms Premium Beef has distributed 6,500 pounds of beef products to area organizations that help those in need.

Winfield Community Food Pantry, Angels in the Attic and Manna Ministries, of Ark City, Joseph Storehouse in Burden, Eastern Cowley County Resource Center in Dexter and Lord’s Diner in Wichita received the donations Monday, according to a press release from Creekstone.

Over the past two months, Creekstone has also provided a total of 10,000 pounds of beef products to help feed its employees and their families.

“Our priority is always our employees, their families, and our community. We are happy to support them and these local organizations in this time of need during the Covid-19 restrictions,” Rudy Steiner, General Manager at Creekstone Farms, said in a written statement. “Our team members proudly produce the finest Black Angus beef products in the world, and right now we are proud to help feed the communities that we all live and work in.”

Non-profit organizations have seen a dramatic increase in requests for help since the outbreak of the coronavirus, leading to dwindling supplies and a greater need for donations.

“Cowley County has a great network of people willing to work together to help our population,” said Becky Reid, Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent for K-State Research and Extension. “It is time for all to do what they do best: Creekstone Farms providing quality beef, food pantries helping families, and communities helping our citizens.”

Home Town rentals provided a box truck for the beef to be delivered.
