New SCKMC Physician A Hall Of Fame Martial Artist

South Central Kansas Medical Center has hired a new primary care provider and sports medicine specialist, according to a press release Tuesday.

Dr. Jose Luis Hinojosa started working in the Ark City Clinic last week after transferring from Logan County Health Services. 

“Hinojosa has a 30-year track record of engaging in patient care in the clinic, hospital and emergency room settings,” the hospital said in Tuesday’s press release. ‘He is very proud of his expertise that surpasses the national standards of care in urban and rural health care settings.

“Dr. Hinojosa consistently seeks ways to enhance patient care and improve his practice. He is a 9-time World Champion and multiple Hall of Famer in martial arts; author of 15 books on medical, martial arts, motivational and leadership topics; and he is an avid saxophone player.

“He also engages in professional speaking on medical, leadership and success topics internationally.”

Hinojosa did his pre-med education at Brown University and received his MD degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Hinojosa and his wife, Maria Elena, have six children and five grandchildren.
