Woman Hospitalized, Ark City Man Arrested For Agg. Domestic Battery

The Arkansas City Police Department arrested a local man late Thursday night on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery of a female.

Roberto Francisco, 31, Ark City, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery-domestic violence and disorderly conduct. He was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield with bond set at $100,000 bond through Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City.

Francisco remained in custody at the time of this release.

Officers were dispatched at 10:23 p.m. Thursday to the 900 block of North Fifth Street for a domestic disturbance. Dispatchers reported an open 911 line with a male and female yelling at each other.

Police made contact with the 36-year-old female victim and recorded extensive injuries to her face, including a broken nose.

She was transported by the Arkansas City Fire-EMS Department to South Central Kansas Medical Center, where she remains at this time for treatment of her injuries.

Francisco was identified as a suspect, located inside the home and taken into custody without incident.
