Covid Case Leads To Suspension Of In-Person Learning For Roosevelt Pre-K Students

An individual at Roosevelt Elementary has tested positive for COVID-19, and as a safety precaution, in-person learning for all Roosevelt Pre-K students has been suspended for 14 days, USD 470 officials said late Friday.

The affected individuals have already been contacted and were asked to isolate at home for that duration and to continue learning remotely. In-person learning for that class is tentatively scheduled to resume on October 2.

The district has been following state and local health guidelines and will continue to take steps to protect students, staff members, and their families, the district said in a written statement.

“We understand there may be questions but in an effort to protect privacy rights, no other identifying information will be released. We will continue to monitor the situation and take guidance from officials to determine any further necessary action.

As always, we remain alert and flexible in our plans. Please monitor your health and report any concerning symptoms to your healthcare provider or the local health department. To learn more about COVID-19, its symptoms, and any COVID-19 state guidelines, visit www.coronavirus.kdheks.gov.”
